Happy Monday! (This Monday is happy, okay? Deal with it.) Took these images on Saturday morning, when the expected rainy day ended up being a sunny (albeit cloudy) day. This bush grows in my backyard; have no idea what it is. If you look closely enough at the first photo, you can a few dew drops still hanging in there.

You can check out the rest of the Macro Monday participants at the Sunday Stills blog.

Gee, Mom, get that camera out of my face. Didn't you see that I was napping?

This is Indy, the baby of the cats. Although I can't really call him a baby anymore since he's a year and a half old. While the sun has come back out around here, the nights have been unusually cold, which means all the cats sleep on the bed with us each night, usually between my legs. Sometimes, they'll even stay in bed all day long.

Macro Monday, Feb. 8, 2010

This image is from a trip to the snow my husband and I took 3 weekends ago. I had a very difficult time getting many macro shots in since there was so much snow everywhere. Luckily these leaves were hanging over the snow bank and I could get to them fairly easily.

Here is the original, color image. Both of these have had minimal processing, i.e. contrast or color boosting but that's it.

Not sure which one I like better. What about you?

Macro Monday, Feb. 1, 2010

After prompting from a few others bloggers, and finally getting myself set up, I am going to attempt to participate in Sunday Stills and Macro Monday. I say attempt because I will probably forget about it more than I will remember. But, I'll try.

Since its February (what?! when?!) I thought I'd show y'all what it looks right about now in our neck of the woods. This photograph was actually taken a year ago, with my then brand-new camera, one morning between doing dishes and getting dressed for work.

Yep, that's pretty typical in February. The roses are starting to bud again, hence the red, new leaves and each morning the yard is covered with a heavy layer of dew. But the sun's coming up, and there are few clouds in the sky. Makes a great setting for photography, granted I actually got out of bed early enough to spare some time.

I can't guarantee anything, but I think I'll enjoy these weekly assignments and will try my hardest. Hope you enjoy them too!
