Why I Got to Go to Vegas

This past weekend I was fortunate enough to get to go to Vegas for five days, during the extra special time that is NFR and Cowboy Christmas. I have never attended either of these events and was really excited I was going to be there at the same time as them. But, it wasn't all fun and games for me.

Well, it was fun, but there were definitely no games involved.

Except for maybe the one about how to assemble the AV fastest...

Anyway, moving on. This is really why I went to Vegas:

Convention lighting is horrible.

The company I work for attends the Trade Show at the American Association of Equine Practioner's (AAEP) Annual Convention each year. As the tech support and product research/development girl, I get to go. That's our booth above. Let me highlight the sections for you.

The Electronic Equipment and New Product Section:

The Collection Section:

The Freezing, Evaluation and AI Sections:

See those lobster claw looking things in the middle of the table? Those are Scrotal Calipers. They make a GREAT stocking stuffer.

And my favorite, the Foaling Section:

We worked really long days, and our booth saw a lot of traffic, so we were on our feet all day each day. By the time 6:00 rolled around and they started shutting off lights in the convention room, we were beat. After indulging in some 5 star dining (truffled mac and cheese anyone?), it was all we could manage to get up to our rooms and pass out.

Cowboy H had a few days off work, so on my last day there, we got to shop around a bit.

I'll show what I got for Christmas, if he actually gives it to me! In the meantime, you can all take a guess. Maybe I'll send out another 8x10 if someone gets it right!

  2. Your cowboy always looks so serious in pictures, LOL!
It looks like a nice booth set-up. I have never been to the NFR and hope to some day. I imagine you had dinner w/the CopperPony cowgirl and her sissies??
No idea what you got for Christmas....maybe another critter? :)

Howdy y'all! It makes The Homestead a warm and fuzzy place when you stop by; each and every word is read with great appreciation. Thanks for visiting!
